MACH-X in the CCS IDE |

Is there a painless way to use the programmer from within the IDE. I use MACH-X for bulk programming and the ICD for in-cercuit stuff. I find having to switch out of the IDE to use MACH-X to be a serious irritation. |

I'm wondering why you would want to use the IDE for bulk programming? |

The point is not whether I wnat to use the IDE for bulk programming or not, the point is that I would expect to be able to use a CCS supplied programmer from within the IDE. There are times when I am unable to program in-circuit, I am then forced to remove the chip from the circuit and place it in the programmer. I just think it strange that MACH-X cannot be accessed from the IDE considering that it also sports a ICD connector... |

I've tried setting it up using the given parameters but it doesn't seem to work.

Mine works perfectly thanks to Neutone.
I will take a look at the setting at the office in the morning. |

Hmmm....nothing happens.
I enter the path that you gave me in Options/ Debugger/Programmer/ Device Programmer and expect the programmer to become active when the compile has been completed. It doesn't even transfer to it if it's also open on the desktop.
Did you reference it anywhere else? Or make any oither changes in the MachX s/w?
Thanks....Harry |

After you compile click on Tools/MACH-X. You can also put a button on the toolbar. |

It's still not working for me. I've added the programmer path under Options/Programmer/Deb.... Then I compiled a file without MachX being open on the desktop and clicked on the MachX icon I had installed.
A dialog box appeared called Start connection. Within it was the heading: ICD Connection Settings and a menu to choose CCS MACHX, Com1 or Com2. IF I choose CCS MACHX It tell me that it"cannot connect. The ICD firmware is not supported". ThenI have to choose "ABORT" and it kicks me out of the program. If I choose Com1, it tells me a certain file is unavailable and I also have to abort.
What's happening? Harry |
