ok I'm having trouble compiling this code from my global.h file

I think 'extern' only works if you enable Multiple Compilation Units in the
CCS IDE. I don't have the IDE version of the compiler, so I can't test it
for you. Do you have MCU's enabled ?

Your other errors can be fixed by extracting the bit address from the
compiler's database file, by using getenv(). Example:
