My board has the SCLs connected between the PIC and the LED driver and the SDA on the PIC connected to the serial data in on the LED driver. I found this goof when I was trying to use RC5/SDO as an output for another peripheral.
Here is the question.... Can I recover by "bit-banging" the SPI on the pins I've got? Or, should I cut traces and jumper for now on the prototype?

If the board is a prototype for subsequent further development then I would mod the PCB. However you can always bit bang the SPI.
