one further newbie question

Let us assume that I have two running interrupts - one for the serial port (RX) and one for Timer1. What happens if an interrupt occurs on the serial port and the serial port interrupt routine is running and then Timer1 issues an interrupt (non of the interrupts "fast"). Will the Timer1 interrupt routine start right after the RX interrupt routine is finished - or is an interrupt skipped that occurs during the time another interruot routine is running ?
