Print to console command window
PostPosted: Thu Oct 03, 2013 5:08 pm     Reply with quote

Hi all,

I am using the dsPIC33 MC, I want to know if there is a way to use the UARTx pins to print debugging statements to the command window or to the serial monitor which is included in the CCS IDE.

I am new to programming, so any pointers and or example code would help a lot. Thank you!

Yes, but you'll need to get a chip to convert the PIC UART levels to PC RS232 levels. Otherwise it won't work.

get that, or the 3.3V version... depending on your needs..

or get the MAX232 chip as sugested by others if you do have a RS232 port in your machine.
