If you had taken the time to use the Forum Search to search on RS485 you would have found this:

It includes a schematic showing one chip that can be used.

And not wishing to sound repetitive, but:
When you say RS232, do you mean real genuine RS232 using +/- 12V signaling levels, or do you mean simply a serial port?
The requirements for conversion to RS485 would be totally different. |
