We bought a MachX programmer and have installed it on a Win2000 P3 system. We were able to download version 1.42 of the software (NOT through the MachX interface though). Software appears to comunicate with the programmer and we set the configuration to program a 18F252. Set pin config to 'B.' Success appears to end here. We are not able to program the chip; verify returns all 0x00. Are we doing something stupid? What is the purpose of the 'START' button on the MachX? Any help will be appreciated.

Programming can be done from the Program/Selector window. Form the Program Window(main window) select the hex file using the browse button and selct the chip n the chip box and click on Burn Chip button. The chip should be programmed. The software would automatically choose the pinout whent he chip is selected. You do not have to choose it. The selctor window list all the hex files in the selcted directory and you can select the file and clik on butn Chip button again in the same window. The start button on the unit is for bulk programming. Once you select the file and the chip in the program window you can use this button on the unit to program the chips.
