USB PIC16c745/65 Host Side
PostPosted: Tue Sep 03, 2002 1:21 pm     Reply with quote

Has anyone put any thought into the PC Host side (USB Software)? CCS has put a small amount of time into the uC side but as usual, have left the rest of it up to us. Does anyone know of any good resources for PC Host software (preferrably Visual Basic or Matlab) for simple communication over a USB cable. I am aware of "www.usb-by-example.com/examples" but any help would be appreciated.

When you buy the USB Development kit you get PC examples written in Delphi that show how to write an application that reads/writes to HID devices. There's also another Delphi example that shows how to read/write to a bulk USB device. There's also an example written in C/C++ on how to develop a bulk USB driver.

Seems like a lot more than any other compiler company provides.

Actually the amount of work CCS has put into the "uC" side is not small by any means. It seems like a great deal of usable code to me.

When I asked them for VB examples they referred me to http://www.lvr.com . Again they were very helpful as this is a very good site and my project is underway based on code found there.
