PostPosted: Sun Dec 14, 2003 1:13 pm     Reply with quote

Hi all together !

I downloaded the "new" programm for ICD-S20 a few minutes ago. This version, released 9th of december, was succesfully installed, but at first startup i got the meassage "the firmware needs to be updated" or something like that.

But now comes the main problem :
Where could i get this new firmware, and what will it my ICD-S20 talk to do, what it doesn't do in past ?

Greetings, ACDC

[quote="Ian Peden"] Morning

I am a new user , for both the CCS Compiler & the ICD.
I have the same problems with the Firmware for the ICD.
I was hoping to speed up my development.
On another tack, I have problems with Malloc & Calloc.
The Compiler complains that some of the variables used within the
memory management header file cannot be found.

Hello !

I think you should call tech support.
Do not write an email because delay time
is unbeleivable. "3 weeks, no Fuc.. answer!"

May be the simplier way, but not at all for me. I dont want to pay the bill for a call from germany at office time in the states cause of my bad speaking english.
I asked for some help at a german distributor but got the answer, that for that especial problem i have to ask at CSS ! Great help ! Sad

Is nobody in here having an actual firmware for ICD-S20 ? Or knowing, how to get it in a simple way ?

I would enjoy any help !

The firmware is included in the ICD installation program. On the ICD Control Program press the button called 'Update ICD Firmware' and then choose ICD-S20 from the list.

Great ! That was it ! You should do support for CCS ! :-)

Do you know, if the Firmware for Microchip's ICD oder ICD2 runs on ICD-S20 ? I ask, cause in the moment i only could use the programming feature of the ICD-S20 cause of missing money for the recommended CCS-program. The ICD's from Microchip are supported within the free IDE MPLAB of Microchip, including debugging options.

Has anyone an idea of function or not ?
