ICD-64U and TX2=PGC
PostPosted: Mon Mar 10, 2014 9:20 am     Reply with quote

Hi

Now I used some hour finding UART2 is (not) working?

The problem is ICD-64U is connected to PGD & PGC. After debugging or programming it hold PGC -> TX2 (same pin om 18F26K22) = L. Is that normal?
When removing ICD-64U all is working. I think it is not nice design to have low impedance load or holding pin L.

First general comment, all unused inputs should be held high or low....
Better design than leaving them floating.

The PGC pin _must_ be held low, if the chip is programmed in 'debug' mode, or it won't run reliably. This is why the ICD does this.
