PIC25EP ccsload says it's an unknown device
PostPosted: Thu Mar 21, 2013 11:02 pm     Reply with quote

First off I am running 4.141 PCD/PCW, 4.040 CCSLoad, ICD-U64, and Win7 64bit. This setup has worked fine for other PIC24 and PIC18 MCUs .

Today I tried out a new chip, the PIC24EP128MC206.

I used the 24 bit wizard to create a project for the PIC24EP128MC206. Wrote a simple pin toggle program and compiled it without any issues. Then I tried to download the code using the CCSLoad icon from inside the IDE. I get a message that says: "UNKNOWN DEVICE:PIC24EP128MC206". With an OK box as the only option. Then I tried the CCSLoad application. It starts up just fine, but when I choose the hex file for my project it shows File Status as "CORRUPT" in red, and no target device listed. When I search for the target device in the pull down box, I don't see any PIC24MC parts. It's almost like the compiler supports the PIC24MC but CCSLoad doesn't. Any advice?

Thanks,

Zach

I suggest contacting CCS directly...might take a day or two, but they've always replied to me with a working solution.
