ICD U40 Problem

I am using an ICDU40 which has worked flawlessley up until. It wont connect when I try program the micro from within the IDE. It brings up a box asking to connect to a comm port.

If I open the debugger within the IDE the it connects to the micro no problem but still wont let me program the micro if i close the debugger.

Tryed installing the latst USB driver but still have the problem. Have also tryed restarting the computer many times.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem so would be very interested in any solns. I also have the symbol table ICON greyed out!
