We need a lot more information about what you're trying to do.
I 'read 'your post saying that you have a device with a 16x2 LCD and want to transfer what is on that screen to some kind of 7 segement device?
If so, you need to program a PIC to read the data and control pins of the LCD then decode into appropriate command or data then transmit that information to a '7 segment' display. I don't know if there's a commercial 16x2 LED display. Easy enough to design one though and almost any PIC could do the job.

Honestly we need more info from you....the better the feedback from us

What EXACTLY are you trying to do?

Are you trying to REPLACE an LCD with a 7 seg display?
Do you want to ADD a 7 seg display to a board with an LCD?
OR
What?

We can't start to help you 'til you explain.

Why do you want to use a 7 seg display at all?
Can't you use a DLR1414 type display?

You're STILL not telling us EXACTLY what you're trying to do.

What is the significance of the LCD?

If you are only displaying 3 digit numbers; why did you not say so at the outset?

Mike

EDIT Is this a re-hash of your March Voltmeter project?
