REGISTRATION FILE ERROR - PCM: The CRG file is damaged
PostPosted: Wed Oct 20, 2010 12:02 pm     Reply with quote

Hi everyone,

I have downloaded from microchip web site and installed the

1. HI-TECH C Compiler for PIC10/12/16 MCUs (PRO/Standard/LITE) Update v9.80

and

2. HI-TECH Universal Toolsuite v1.37 (MPLAB IDE Plugin) .

Everything I did in accordance of HI-TECH quickstart guide

When I start the compilation I always get the error window following message: "PCM: The CRG file is damaged"

Do you know anyone where I made a mistake or how can solve this issue?

My MCU is PIC16F877A.

My OP system and MPLAB parameters are the following: MS Vista Home Premium 32-bit,

My suspicion is that you have selected CCS in MPLAB as the tool, when
you're trying to use the Hi-Tech compiler.

If you have a problem configuring the Hi-Tech compiler with MPLAB,
ideally you should ask questions on their forum or the Microchip forum.

"PCM: The CRG file is damaged"

This could happen if you tried to Open or Edit the .CRG file.
