Hello,

I want to ask about the water level sensor..

what type of the sensor is suitable for water level measurement?

You can develop your own simple water level sensor at home, if no special type of sensor is required in your scheme. I can give you an idea how to make this and connect it to microcontroller but how can I upload a picture in the post?

There are as many different types of water level sensor, as days in a month.
What is best, depends on a suite of factors:
Water in a tank, or open.
Likely range of movement.
Environment.
Accuracy needed.
Speed.
Flow rates, and likely turbulence.
etc...

I have used systems ranging from simple floats, with a cord operating a potentiometer, through versions with linear optical scales, onto capacitive versions (you can get fully sealed versions of the unit mentioned by an earlier poster), ultrasonic, laser reflection, pressure sensors in a tube, etc., etc..

You need to specify the conditions involved to get any real idea of what can be done...

Very simple yet reliable to use is a CD4093-based AD-oscillator/detector-circuit with 2 probes (e.g. metal-wires) installed in a tank, etc. When the liquid level touches both probes one of the CD4093-outputs goes HIGH and switches e.g. a transistor or an opto-coupler which turns ON/OFF a pump, etc. The schematic can easily be found in the internet. Just enter "Water level sensor" and can easily be built.
