18F4431 won't let in code
PostPosted: Sat Sep 17, 2005 10:22 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I recently ordered 5 x 18F4431 PDIP, and 3 x QFN.

The first Chip I tried works flawlessly, however the other CHIPS
don't take a single instruction into flash.
I can read what is in the Flash, but not write.

I use a Tait like burner and freeware soft, as described here.
http://www.sprut.de/electronic/pic/brenner/index.htm#brenner5

&

http://www.sprut.de/electronic/soft/p18/p18.htm

Of course this behaviour can be software and / or burner based,
but why does it work with one of the Chips ?

I'm confused !

Thanks for suggestions.

HI,

I've connected all four supply pins.
Makes no difference with the working device, if you only connect two.

The programmer software for the 18F4431 is experimental. It may
not work properly. The web page says:

Have you disabled LVP or pulled up the LVP pin?
