Multiple EEPROMs and pull up resistors?
PostPosted: Wed Jul 06, 2005 9:54 am     Reply with quote

Hi

If I have four EEPROMS communicating to a PIC using i2c. Do I need a 2kOhm pull up resistor for each each EEPROM on the SCL and SDA lines?
Or can I use just one set of pull up resistors (2 in number)?

Thank you in advance

You only need one resistor on each bus line (2 resistors total). The resistors are not for each eeprom but for the bus line itself. Try using between 2k - 4k first.
