Fill EEPROM on PIC18F8585
PostPosted: Mon Nov 15, 2004 7:02 am     Reply with quote

Hello every body,

I use the EEPROM of PIC18F8585 as parameter table, I'd like fill a default table for the first run.

Do you know how I can do to fill EEPROM with value at compil step.

I found this solution
#rom ADD_OF_EEPROM = {0x1234}
with ADD_OF_EEPROM = 0x0F0000

what do you think about that? does the address is correct?

Many thank
Thierry

The address of the Data EEPROM is usually given in the Programming
Specification for the PIC.

So go here, to the 18F8585 page:
http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplgidcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1335&dDocName=en010321

Then download the Programming Specification. Then look for the
section in that document called:
"Embedding Data EEPROM Information In the HEX File".
Then you will find the address.
