unable to detect PIC16C765 with ICD-S40
PostPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2004 2:57 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I'm working on a project that uses the PIC16C765 and I am unable to detect the processor with the ICD-S40. I am able to read the device ID which is 0B82. Have I anything change in the chip edit?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
andy

16F765 ICD

Hi,

I am sure that the ICD is only meant to be used on the specific Flash devices that support In Circuit Debugging. Like the 16F876, 18F458 etc.

I don't think that the ICD can be used as a fully comprehensive device programmer.

Anoher point: the 16C765 is a OTP device. If you are running a 16C765-JW then the device must be erased via a UV EEPROM eraser.
