Can a LDO be used to generate 3.3 V for a MMC card ??

Hi,

Sorry if this sounds silly, but can a device like MCP 1702 be used to generate the 3.3 V supply voltage for a MMC card ??

Yes it can, if your MMC card sinks less than 250 mA and that the dissipated power (drop-out voltage * current consumption) is compliant with the choosen package.And of course you have to choose the 3.3V model, and to provide an input greater than 4V.
