Anyone using the Vinculum chip to talk to a keyboard?
PostPosted: Tue Apr 01, 2008 10:21 pm     Reply with quote

I'm just getting into it, but it would be helpful to know ahead of time if someone's already been here. I know that USB keyboards have HID usage IDs for each key instead of the PS/2 keyboard's scan codes; so far so good. What I don't know is, does the keyboard send a byte at a time, or multiple bytes? What gets sent if (for example) the left-shift is held down while other characters are typed? If anyone's used the VNC1L to talk to a USB keyboard, I'd love to hear what you know.

I may just have to interface it to my laptop's serial port and see what happens...
