Using a 18F4685 as a clock?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 07, 2008 11:45 am     Reply with quote

I have a sensor device that needs a 32.768KHz clock. Can I use one of the timers of the PIC to deliver that clock? If so how?

Oh, the 18F4685 is running off a 20MHz crystal.

Thanx Wink

That would mean toggling an output from the PIC every 76.2939453125 instruction cycles.

If you had a crystal of 19922944hz you could toggle it every 76 instruction cycles. This could be done with one of the PWM modules on many PIC's.
