USB keyboard

I'm using the sample code for the USB keyboard and mouse that came with the uSB dev kit.

It works on some computers, but not others. One that it will not work on has a dell keyboard, the other is a dell laptop. Some other computers with different dell keyboards work ok. One the system with a dell keyboard the LED that should light up when the board enumerates never does, but on my laptop it does light up. In either case under device manager I get a yellow triangle and a generic error. Anybody have any ideas on how to make this work on any computer? I would like it to work no matter what other keyboard is plugged in.
