Program 16F883 with PCM V3.222?
PostPosted: Fri Oct 05, 2007 8:30 am     Reply with quote

I have been using the CCS C compiler for a range of Microchip controllers for a while, and now I would like to use it for the 16F883.

I noticed it is not in the supported devices list. Is this because I have an older version and just need a 16F883.h file, or do I need to upgrade to the latest version of the compiler?

If all I need is a 16F883.h file, is there one available for download?

Thanks in advance,

D2.

The .h file for a processor, does nothing. It'll not add support for a processor that the compiler does not understand. The actual support for the processor, is in the 'devices.dat' file, which is part of the compiler suite itself.
I'm afraid you need to update.
It is possible to add a device to the devices.dat, if you have the 'windows' version of the compiler (using 'device editor'), but doing so, is quite a lot of work...

Best Wishes
