New kid on the block -- Mikroelektronika vs CCS
PostPosted: Thu Sep 13, 2007 1:12 pm     Reply with quote

Looks like Mikroelektronika is much better in cosmetic than CCS !!!

How about the performance and ease of programming as well as features ??

CCS has yet to make comparison to Mikroelektronika...

Can anybody get me a comparison, so that I can make decision to stick with CCS or change to Mikroelektronika ...

I looked briefly at MicroEl. Forgive this, but my it reminded me of the blond joke - - "nice house, nobody home"

I'm staying with ccs !

At first glance: I would miss the plug-in to the MPLAB IDE. I use ICD2, REAL ICE programmers/debuggers, these would be all useless under a compulsory IDE.

Nice, fancy looking website, well written manual, dev boards with lots of options... ..the compiler might deserve a more thorough look. ...especially the dsPIC compiler is tempting for me until CCS PCD is not available. (I mean with the dsPIC related stuff. I keep looking at the PCD project status page regularly, no progress since Aug 13 : (

MicroC 6 has better library (eg: Graphical LCD , PS/2, USb, PWM)
in PWm u dont need to calculate all the prescalar value ..just mention it...

but CCS has a good functions for Interrupt and ADC... no need to work with bits like MicroC... using CCS ine will learn better .. and have a lot of scope to excel ... its upto u that u want to learn or just to finish your project/application...
