MPLAB crash
PostPosted: Fri Sep 07, 2007 12:17 am     Reply with quote

Hi to all,

I take a look to every threads in this and microchip's forum but I didn't solve crash every few minutes of Mplab 7.60 with using CCS compiler V3.249.

With Mplab 7.40 the system is more stable and crash only one time in a hour but I need to use 7.60 release.

I tryed to upgrade CCS plug-in without solve.

Does it depend from CCS compiler or Mplab ?
Somebody can help me ?

Regards,
Fabri

I've been having crashing problems with Mplab as well.
I found that anything newer than 7.42 became unstable / crashed.
7.42 seems okay using 3.249

It appears to be the plugin which causes all of the crashes, and like most others I have also had to revert back to 7.4x to get any work done.

I would also prefer to use the latest version, especially since I purchased a RealICE to debug my app, but can't use it with 7.4x.

You may be able to work by compiling the program external to MPLAB.

7.62 is much more stable than 7.60, I can run it for hours sometimes with out it crashing.

Hours! I was lucky to get minutes between crashes.

Every time I clicked on an error in the output window it would die, as well as most times the compiler was invoked, or failing that just randomly if it had been operating for more than about 5 minutes!
