I need to do a connection PIC-PC (USB maybe?) to send just 1 bytes to the PC without locking the CPU. I'm kind of a newbie , so please if there's someone that could help if some examples to start.

It worked the connetion PIC-hyperTerminal , but I need to use the information the PIC sent to me for another program I developed in my PC. Do you have any references about how to do this? How to program using the hyper-Terminal information.
Thank you very much for your help

Parallax has many application notes on how to do serial data links - They are in Pic Basic, but it is easy to convert to PIC C - the idea of how this works is what you are looking for, yes?

check them out at: parallax.com/

Then check out the RS232 extensions for the PIC C compiler (in the manual). You will find PIC C to be very easy.
