Hello and I am sorry for this trivial cuestion.

Where should I start?

I need to manage a CompactFlash from some 18Fxx PIC.
then, The memory should be read from a Computer.

I think I need to work on some FAT file system but I am a beginner on that.
I have worked with CCS compiler, 24LC1024 memory, I2C, SPI, RS232 etc then I have some experience with PICS and C Compiler but not with CompactFlash.

A quick way to find everything in the forum archives on Compact Flash
is to go to http://www.google.com and paste in this search string:
