How to use the MCLR input PIN as a standard I/O port ?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 19, 2007 8:02 am     Reply with quote

Hello all,
During the execution of my program I would like to change the use of the MCLR input into a standard input pin (I would like to deactivate the RESET Input)
How to do that ?

(PIC18F6722, PIN RG5 - MCLR)

Thank you.

You can't.
It can only be changed by the fuses (NOMCLR), and this is only read on power-on reset. Section 11.7 of the data sheet.
Changing it 'dring execution', would prevent it from being useable anyway (how would something be able to reset the chip?...).

Best Wishes
