[OT] RFID questions
PostPosted: Tue Jan 02, 2007 2:26 am     Reply with quote

Folks,

Where can a mere mortal buy MCRF355 RFID transponders? I couldn't find then through google (it didn't even find it at the aftermarket vendors).

Sone time ago I heard that there are RFID transponders that can take in 1 bit of external data and transmit it together with the ID. Does anyone know which chips can do that?

Thanks,
Nick

The chip with a sensor input is MCRF202, but it's also nearly impossible to obtain.

There's also an indication that this chip is near the end of life http://support2.microchip.com/KBSearch/KB_StdProb.aspx?ID=SQ6UJ9A005JSR

However, the same knowledge base article says that it's possible (did they actually mean "conceivable"?) to build an RFID transponder tag with a nano-power PIC. Have anyone done or tried that?

Cheers!
Nick
