Using two 12F683 & Capture Compare PWM

Using two 12F683s...one to output a 2500hz pulse and the second will
be connected down the line (phone line actually). When the second pic "sees" the 2500hz pulse I want to trigger an output. Generating the pulse is easy enough but what would be the best way to catch the pulse ?

Capture and Compare using the CCP1 ? or ADC possibly ?

Simple probally..I am a beginner
