How to implement Enahnced CCP modules (For 4 PWM O/P)
PostPosted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 6:16 pm     Reply with quote

Hi all:

I have a PIC18F8722 demo board from Microchip, and the datasheet says there are 3 Enhanced CCP modules that can generate 4 PWM outputs in each module. I wonder if anyone know how to implement a maxium of 12 PWM outputs in the programming by using the 3 ECCP modules?

Thanks

You can't.
There are four outputs from each ECCP module, _but only one PWM controller_ in each. Look at figure 18-1. The extra outputs are for things like 'full bridge' driving, _not_ to give extra seperate PWM signals. You can generate one PWM signal from each ECCP module, and one from each CCP module, giving a maximum of five outputs with seperate timings.

Best Wishes
