PIC18F4620 and bootloader

Hi everybody !

I am a complete newbees and I want to create a bootloader with a GSM modem. I already have a program ruuning wuth GSM comunication but I don't understand how to create the bootloader...

-I have plenty of function and I suppose I have to separate them from the bootloader but how ?
I read some stuff on it but I am lost ... for exemple what does mean :

The loader has to be at the beginning of the PIC EEPROM? and the rest of the code just after using

So as you can see I am lost, is there some good understanding link for me ? someone peharps has a exemple to share ?

Hint.
The examples with the compiler, include a complete bootloader...
