Move fontcode to a string
PostPosted: Sat May 13, 2006 2:38 am     Reply with quote

I have following problem.

If i pass the letters "AB" to a string, this letter must be converted to
0x7E, 0x11, 0x11, 0x11, 0x7E (See font)
and must be placed in a the string "message" at position 0

then the letter "B" must converted to
0x7F, 0x49, 0x49, 0x49, 0x36
and must be placed in the string "message" at position 5

How can i do this.
I have placed several post, but nothing that work until now
Please help me

Code:

char message[50];

// Declare and Init the font array data
char const Font[480] = {

You table starts with ' ' or 0x20. To find the index of 'A', you simply do

Code:

int16 index;
char letter;

letter = 'A';

// We don't start at 0 so adjust for our first char
index = letter - 0x20;
// There are 5 bytes for each char
index *= 5;

Now you have the starting position of the letter in your const array. Just load 5 bytes starting at index. Do the same thing for the next lettter and so on.
