Programm size on PIC 18LF458
PostPosted: Fri Apr 07, 2006 1:53 am     Reply with quote

Hello,

i use a PIC18LF458 and i have a question :

I use a programm that works and when i switch the battery off, and then on, the PIC is working well.

When i use another update version of this programm, when i bootload it, it works, without any problem, but when i switch the battery off, and then on, the PIC is not working anymore.

Could you tell me why ?

The first programm uses 72% of the ROM and 9% of the RAM.
The second programm uses 81% of the ROM and 32% of the RAM.

Is there any link between the fact that it is not working and the size of the programm ?

Many thanks.

Best regards.

Possibly.
One obvious question. How big is the bootloader?. The chip needs to hold _both- the main program, and the bootloader program...

Best Wishes
