EEPROM values and reset
PostPosted: Fri Mar 10, 2006 4:03 am     Reply with quote

Hello,

i use a PIC 18F458 and i wondered if all data from EEPROM were set to 0, assuming that no data were written before ?

I mean if i buy a new pic, and try to read all EEPROM addresses, are they all set to 0 ?
If not, is there a way to set all the 256 EEPROM addresses values to 0 ?

Many thanks.
Best regards.

I would not rely on the EEprom being zero unless the datasheet says so. Most likely it will be filled with random bits. The only way to be sure it is zero is to write zeros to it.
