Is there a way or a function to clear a line of the lcd.for example if you want to clear line 1 or line 2.
Code:
lcd_putc(clear_line1 or clear_line2)?
instead of clearing the entire lcd display!!! Shocked

Er. lcd_putc(" ");
Use as many spaces as you want.
However you can also be 'sneaky'. Suppose you have a message like:

"The value is : 29.3".

You can clear the screen at the beginning, and print the text:

"The value is :"

Then for the display, use lcd_gotoxy, to place your new 'writing' point, where you want the number to be (just after the ':' here), print (say) ten spaces, then use lcd_gotoxy again to go back to the same point where the number wants to go, and print the number. Repeat this as the number updates. This way only the part of the display that you want to update, has to change, giving 'cleaner' displays.
Writing (say), ten spaces, and then the required number into the same area, only takes typically 50uSec for each 'goto', and a few uSec each for the character writes.

Best Wishes
