Hey guys/gals
Work is looking to get a software package to do board design and layout/simulation. We are currently looking for something around $1500.00 ready to go. We want as complete of a library as we can get.
we have looked primarily at EAGLE v4.1 and EASY-PC v9 so far. Any suggestions or comments?

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the completeness of the library. I would not trust any library part until I have manually checked it over, and checking it over is not that much faster than building it from scratch. I know this personally from working with PADS and Orcad. Over the years I have wandered away from their supplied libraries and almost exclusively use my own parts. _________________ The search for better is endless. I've been using RIMU PCB for about a year and a half. I find it easy to learn and it comes at a reasonable price. Check it out at http://www.hutson.co.nz/.

i found a setup called proteus that allows you to use PIC code to test your setup in the schematic by importing and running the PIC code. It looks really neat for schematics and projects with PICs.
