I have had trouble using the PCM16VC0 to emulate the 16F873A in sleep mode. It just did not work. It stayed in sleep mode and the WDT could not wake it. I have struggled for weeks and sent e-mails about the problem, with no success. Programming a chip works. Why have an expensive emulator that can’t do what the chip should.
Tonight I took the same code that does not work with the 16F873A and targeted the 16F876A. Guess what the sleep mode now works. Don't trust Microchip tools, so much for pointing fingers at CCS complier.
A big plus for CCS complier.

I am not familiar with the exact modules, but you may want to verify the capabilities of the emulator and/or modules. Many of the emulator modules do not wake from sleep using watch dog. There are a few other limitiations as well but I can't remember them right now, it has been a while since I last used the emulator.
