PostPosted: Mon May 02, 2005 8:14 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

MCU: 16F628
Compiler: PCM ver 3.169

How can I setup PIC 16F628 to count the number of pulses . Kindly let me have the detailed setup procedure, I am confused about what is used for this purpose , the Timer 1 input pin or CCP module or pin b0.

Please do help me.

thanks

What is your overall purpose ? Is it to make a tachometer ?
If so, counting pulses on the input pin is not the best way to do it.

Hi,

The pulses are derived from an optical encoder, I do not know the rate at present.

I would like to use an input pin like RB 3, RB 4 etc. to count the pulses.

thanks
