12C671 oscillator calibration problem
PostPosted: Tue Mar 29, 2005 6:07 am     Reply with quote

Hello,

i use PCW software on a p12C671 project. There are some problems during emulation, i use a Mathias emulator, and when i expect the .lst file, there is a call at 0x3FF adress at the Reset vector. It's ok to calibrate oscillator on a chip but during emulation there is no code at this adress so the program stop.

The solution could be to put at 0x3FFF adresse the instruction 'retlw .50' for exemple to simulate the chip but i can't put this. I have tried the 'ORG' directive like that :

#org 0x3FF, 0x3FF
#asm
retw .50
#endasm

but the compiler doesn't accept this.

What are the solutions ?

Use:
#ROM 0x3FF = { 0x349c }

Alternatively, just change the oscillator type definition, when using the emulator.
The #org ability, assumes it is required to insert a 'routine', and as such requires a suitably defined function to work. Unfortunately, this prevents it from accepting 'one instruction' definitions.

Best Wishes
