Can write_program_memory() change configuration bits?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 03, 2005 2:47 pm     Reply with quote

I need to set the brown out detect configuration bit of some PICs (18LF452) in the field. Our firmware contains a bootloader, so I'm wondering if I can write a new mainline that simply changes the configuration bits. The changes will not need to take affect until the next time the PIC is restarted.

Yes it can.
This is the basis of the 'bootloader' type programs. Obviously assuming you don't have this area protected in any way.

Best Wishes
