rs485.c help!!!

hello!!!

sorry for my english...
I have experience programming PICs but
i dont know how the rs-485 protocol works...

has somebody a simple example of use of the RS485.c library??
i need a simple example of main program...

I want to create a network with 2-10 pics to transmit sensor's data...
I need to send and to receive data from each module...

help!!

The RS485 is not a protocol but a physical layer definition. It defines how to implement a multidrop serial network. The protocol itself is the second thing to think about and there are lots of options in the market. I would suggest you Modbus RTu because your sensors could be sold commercially as Modbus compliant devices for the market.

I recomend reading up on the MAX232 first. It's a level converter between logic and RS232. Then look at the MAX485. It's a level converter between logic and RS485. This should give you a good idea of how the hardware layer can be put togather. Forget you ever saw RS485.c

You can look in my web folder for examples and specfications for MODBUS.

I think/hope you mean the MAX485...
