16F876 and Bootlader
PostPosted: Fri Apr 23, 2004 3:45 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

Question

I have trouble with the bootloader for the 16F876.
I can't get them to work.
I try to use the www.microchipc.com bootloader, but it seems that the downloader programm isn't able to find the pic.
I use the 20Mhz 19200baud hex-file but i can't get them to work.

Has anyone an idea?
I#m a PIC-Beginner and
I'm frustrated....

You will have to provide us with more information before we are able to help you.

I assume you are using the PIC16F876? And you are sure it is running at 20MHz?

What tools did you use to program the initial bootloader in the PIC?
Is your PIC running on a standard development board we might know of, or is it your own development?
How is the PIC connected to your computer.
What exactly is working, and what part not?
etc, etc, etc.

18452 Bootloader
PostPosted: Tue Apr 27, 2004 3:48 am     Reply with quote

Me too. I use this bootloader for the 18F452 & found that it would only work 100% of the time at 2400.

At 9600 it would work the first time but never a second time. I think it is to do with the Xon Xoff because @ 2400 it is so slow it works just as well without Xon Xoff.

If you solve this please let us know.

Hi,

i got the bootloader running at 20Mhz and 19200bps.

I used the asm file and changed it to 20Mhz and 19200bps.
I compiled the file and burned it into the pic.

And it works great Smile
It is so fast.
