OT: 40 pin to 28 pin adapter?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 05, 2003 2:52 pm     Reply with quote

Hello,

I currently have a project that is using the 18F452 and I am looking to move to the 18F252.

My current hardware has a 40 PIN DIP socket for the processor. Does anyone make an adapter to go from the 40 pin device to 28 pin device hooking up matching resources (like port a to a, b to b, etc) while ingoring the rest?

I was going to wire something up, but thought I would ask first.

Thanks,
Burt

You've come to the right place Burt. CCS sells one that does exactly that. They have a few other flavors as well, like the one that converts from 40-pin to the PIC14000. Hope that helps.

Allow me to correct myself. The CCS adapters require the 40-pin socket to be ZIF. I failed to notice your mention that you needed to convert a 40-pin DIP socket. Too bad really. Otherwise, it is exactly what you need.
