Hi,

I'm using M41T81 from ST. It's I2C. Good replacement for Dallas/Maxim.

http://www.st.com/stonline/products/families/memories/rtc/nv_t81.htm

There is a version with internal XTAL e other one without. I use the second one.

What features do you need? - square wave out, time of day alarm, backup battery switching, etc. (I'm in the middle of this same process).

Check out the PCF8563 from Philips. I've used it in limited numbers and it seems to work well.

PCF8563 from Philips is really a good choice. Pretty cheap.

However, take care of the features you need as SteveS said.
