PostPosted: Wed Mar 03, 2004 1:25 am     Reply with quote

Hi there,

I have CCS3.185 and also have a problem with it.When i try to compile projects using F877 sometimes it gives error "Unknown device type try PCM"
I checked compiler vers. it gives PCB PCM PCH 3.185. So what? Should i use PCW?
My project's stopped..

You just need to select that you are compiling for the 14bit devices. The PCW 'shell', calls one of three different compilers, according to which chip family is selected in the little window at the top of the screen. You can select 'Microchip 12bit', 'Microchip 14bit', and 'Microchip 16bit' (assuming you have the full version with all three compilers as you do). If this window is set wrong, the incorrect compiler will be called, which will not recognise the device type for the other chip families...

Best Wishes
