What was that??????

Are you calling a lot of nested subroutines from your isr ?
You shouldn't.

In an isr, you should just:
1. Fetch a char and stuff it in a fifo buffer.
or
2. Increment a counter, or two.
or
3. Set a flag.

Don't do much more than that.

If this doesn't answer your question, then post your isr code,
and also post the PIC and version of the compiler you're using.
