5.085 abbrevia inflate error PIC24EP512GU814 |

After upgrading PCWHD to 5.085 when I want to make a new project using the pic24 Wizard, for the PIC24EP512GU814 I get the following error:
Abbrevia inflate error, possibly a corrupted compressed stream (Internal cause: decoded an invalid distance symbol: grater than 29 [decoded data])
If instead of that processor, for example I use PIC24EP512GU810, it works fine..
I did not have this problem in my previous version 5.082. |

That sounds like a bug to me... You should email support. They are usually responsive and helpful. |

Thanks for your advice, I already sent an email to support, they sent me a file devices5.dat, but this did not solve the problem
When I have another support response that resolves the case, I will post it here |

Yes, does exactly the same for me.
There has been at least one other oddity posted now with this version, so
I'd suggest to everyone, to keep the older version, until these have been
fixed.
I noticed when doing the install, it actually popped up an error for a moment
during the install, but then carried on and didn't complain again. Something
about a compressed stream....
It actually only seems to do it if the oscillator is selected as crystal.
Selected 'internal', and it merrily created the project without this error.
No, wrong. It is the fact the file is being 'created' that causes the error.
If you overwrite an existing project it doesn't give the error. When I selected
'internal' I overwrote the previous version using 'crystal', and this was what
made the error disappear. |

I was finally able to solve this problem with CCS support
They sent me a new pcdwiz.exe and with that the problem was solved
I asked for authorization to CCS Support to post this file here in the forum, if they authorize it I put it here |

The answer from CCS:
Better to have them contact us for the exe. It will be in the next release as well. |

Bad news!!!!!
I thought the problem was solved, but it actually got worse with the new pcdwiz.exe.
Now you can not create any project with any device, at the moment you click on create project, an error window appears with the message "range check error" and this does it for any selected device, not only for the PIC24EP512GU814.
1- opening the PCWHD 5.085 empty IDE
2-File > New > Project 24 bit wizard
3-Save as main.ccspjt
4.-main.ccspjt exist - overwrite? Yes
5.-The PCD wizard opens
6.- choose family: PIC24EP
7.- choose device: PIC24EP512GU814 (does not appear anymore the abbrevia inflate error)
8- Click "create Project" (a error Windows appear with "range check error") |

Good news.
CCS has sent me a new pcdwiz.exe, and for now it seems to work fine.
I want to clarify that before that they had sent me a new file devices5.dat.
I'm not sure if the solution is only for the new exe or the two files are necessary. |
