Off Topic Question
PostPosted: Fri Jan 30, 2004 1:43 pm     Reply with quote

I need a custom RF sheild, much like the tin plated 8 mil metal work / cans found in RF tuners etc.

If you know a company that does this kind of work please let me know.

thanks...

We looked at RF shields for a recent project. We didn't actually
buy any, but I have links to some manufacturers.

That helps a lot....

BTW I'm not looking to RF shield anything, it's more a problem of preventing the client from zapping the circuits when accessing the inside of the unit.

I figured if I put the entire pcb in a tin box it will stand a better chance of surviving a 1" spark from a nylon carpet generated lighting strike !

Hans: I have a very low cost way to do just what you want. It's at EDN waiting to be published so I can't share it globally yet - but if you contact me at,

steve@nospamAnalogHome.com

(remove the nospam from above)

I'll email the Design Idea to you.
